Dr. Ahmed R. El Safty has over 20 years of experience working for think-tanks, policy-making institutions, and regional organizations. He has provided technical support and consultation in economic policy management for policymakers in 12 MENA countries, and participated in teaching and training at both academic and executive levels.
Dr. El Safty has a Ph.D. degree in International Economics and Finance, as well as an M.Sc. in International Economics and Finance, from Brandeis University. He also has an MIA in Economic Policy Management from Columbia University.
Currently, Dr. El Safty is an Associate Professor of Practice in the Department of Economics at the American University in Cairo, as well as the Co-Founder and Managing Director of Delta Research Center. He also acts as a consultant to the IMF Institute for Capacity Building in Washington D.C., and an Advisor to the Technical Committee for Public Debt Management in Egypt.
