Call for Papers

TRENDS Research & Advisory aims to academically influence and shape regional and international policies through objective, value-added research and analysis that addresses current strategic issues while providing advice to decision-makers at the local, regional and international levels.

We welcome original research from the research community that reflects international scientific and methodological standards. Specialists in their respective fields of studies and expertise are also encouraged to submit. The papers can be submitted in English. We reserve the right to undertake edits for clarity and coherence.

Submissions can be made under the following categories:

• Insights and research articles (2,000 – 3,000 words);
• Policy briefs (1,000 – 2,000 words);
• Policy/working papers (6,000 – 10,100 words).

All TRENDS publications undergo a thorough editing and peer-review process before publishing.

We focus on the following themes and topics:

• International relations; foreign policy and diplomatic affairs,
• International law; conflicts resolution strategies, international crisis management, and governance
• Security issues, military affairs, radicalization, terrorism, and counter-terrorism approaches;
• Geo-politics; area studies with a special focus on the GCC, the Middle East, and North Africa region;
• Geo-economics and strategy;
• Sustainable development.

The TRENDS editorial team encourages authors to submit papers with a substantive focus on important findings. We expect the papers to be aligned with our research focus and to meet the standards of our research output.

The Center hopes to publish papers that meet internationally accepted research publication standards, and it also requires authors to contribute original materials that have not been published in any academic or research forum.

The guidelines for submission are as follows:

• Each submission should be emailed separately to papers@musakhalil.com/trendsresearch.org.
• Each submission should include a 200-word abstract and a 150-word bio of the author.
• Our Commissioning Editors will revert if a paper requires additional information.
• The research or study is published by TRENDS after making all the required modifications and will receive a reward as per the publishing agreement signed with TRENDS.
